Nat Azúa is an interdisciplinary Chicana-Salvadoran artist based in Houston. She specializes in hyper-realistic portraits, contemporary Expressionism, and the avant-garde in traditional media. She occasionally works with digital media, as well as ceramic and found object sculptures.
While she began dabbling in drawings and painting at the age of 2, her immersion in visual art primarily began while attending high school. During that time, she won the visual arts state UIL at 16, placed first in the county fair art auction, and was a finalist for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She has over 10 years of experience creating personal projects and commission-based work.
Nat has also made many appearances throughout the country, but most particularly in the Texas art scene. She has had artworks published in various publications including Celebrating Art, mollysoda's blog, and EatSleepDraw. In 2012, her artwork was personally selected by Lady Gaga to appear in the V Magazine Spring 2013 issue.
She has had showings at The Dr. Mari Jon Filla Art Exhibit, Sugar Land Town Square, Insomnia Gallery, Hardy and Nance Studios, The Art Museum of South Texas, and other various local art galleries around the Greater Houston area. She continues to create art daily and is currently working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts.
