- Who is eligible to submit to MantecaHTX Latinx Registry?
- Any creative individual or collective who self-identifies as Latinx and has an artistic practice in Houston, TX is welcomed to create an artist profile for free. General public users are also welcome to create their own user profile.
- What's the difference between a User Profile and Artist Profile?
- A User Profile is for anyone who wants to use the directory to bookmark their favorite Artist Profiles. This may include curators, art supporters, programmers, activators, publishers, editors, producers, historians, scholars, collectors, general public, organizers, etc. An Artist Profile is available for any creative individual / collective who self-identifies as Latinx and has an artistic practice in Houston, TX. An Artist Profile is a way to showcase your creative work on an online platform. With an Artist Profile, you also have access to bookmarks and metrics as well as a User Profile.
- Do I have to make a profile to browse the MantecaHTX listings?
- A profile is NOT required to browse the listings. You are encouraged to create a user profile to save your bookmarked artists profiles and events. To create a Latinx Artist listing you do need a profile.
- How can I sign up for a user account?
- To sign up, click on the 'User Sign Up' link at top menu. Fill out all fields, write down your username and password for future reference, and follow the steps to finish the process. By signing up you agree to our Term of Service and Privacy Policy. You will now have an active account to collect your favorite artist profiles on a private page.
- What is my user name?
- Your username is whatever email address you used to signup for a profile.
- How can I list an Artist Profile on the MantecaHTX directory?
- To list an Artist Profile on the MantecaHTX directory, click Artist Sign Up on the menu bar or Artist Login Tap and Click sign up. Fill out all fields, write down your username and password for future reference, and follow the steps to finish the process. By signing up you agree to our Term of Service and Privacy Policy. You will now have an active Artist Profile to showcase your work online alongside other Latinx artists from across disciplines and have access to create event pages.
- What is the required information for listing an artist profile at the Edit Listing page?
- The only required fields that must be filled at the Edit Listing page is Artist Name and Categories, all other fields are optional. Whenever a field has content the user will be able to see that content on your Artist Profile.
- What are the steps to create an Artist Profile?
- At the Home page, click on Artist Sign Up and click the Sign Up button Create a Listing (Artist) at the EDIT LISTING page 1. At the “Edit Listing” page enter your artist name, categories, description of your practice, email address, and artist statement. (Optional: social media links, video URL, SEO content box, address/ location) 2. At the Photo Gallery sidebar, click CHOOSE FILE and browse/drop 5 JPGs of available/ready to present works of art. 3. Once 5 images are loaded onto the Photo Gallery content area, click the blue pencil that is next to the uploaded image. 4. An Image Cropping & Description box pops up. At the “Image Title" enter the following for each image: Title, medium, dimension, date 5. You can also submit video by clicking ADD VIDEO and then paste a URL link to video. Can also add a brief description 6. To attach an additional file, click CHOOSE FILE and browse to open a Resume or CV document file or any document you wish to upload. Type a description of the file in the text box. 7. Once satisfied with all the content, click the “SAVE” button on the bottom of the page… AND THE LISTING GOES LIVE ON MantecaHTX WEBSITE 8. At the DASHBOARD you can preview the listing by clicking PREVIEW. 9. ALL CONTENT CAN BE CHANGED AT ANYTIME BY CLICKING THE ARTIST LOGIN box at the header. This will take you back to the dashboard. Click EDIT to change listing content. SAVE all your changes.
- What is an SEO?
- SEO is a marketing discipline focused on growing visibility in organic (non-paid) search engine results. SEO encompasses both the technical and creative elements required to improve rankings, drive traffic, and increase awareness in search engines. There are many aspects to SEO, from the words on your page to the way other sites link to you on the web. SEO Title: Appears on the Tap of your Artist Profile Web page Page Name: Creates a unique URL to your page SEO Keywords: Drives user traffic to your page. Use your words wisely. Only words that will help the user find your unique artist practice. Description: The meta description is a snippet of up to about 155 characters – a tag in HTML – which summarizes a page's content. Search engines show the meta description in search results mostly when the searched-for phrase is within the description.
- Am I required to have an Artist Profile to add an event to the site?
- Yes. In order to add any event to the directory, you must have an Artist Profile account.
- Is the MantecaHTX logo linked to the Home Page?
- Yes this navigation element is for easy access to the Home page menu items [Home, About, Artist Profiles, Artist Sign Up, Events, Blog and Contact], and on the top blue band the Artist Login, and the User’s Name drop down menu [Back to Website,(user)Profile, FAQ, Preferences, and Log Off]. If the user has not login the User Sign Up and User Login will list on the blue band instead of the Users Name.
- How does the 'Sign me in automatically' work?
- The 'Sign me in automatically' is optional, it saves your username and password on your computer and every time you access the page you will be automatically logged in.
- What happens if I forget my password?
- If you forget your password, please click on the 'Forgot your Password?' link of the front of the directory or on the log in page. The password recovery email will be sent to the email address provided from your Contact Information. The email will contain a link which will redirect the user to the 'Manage Account' section, where the password can be updated.
- How can I change my password?
- After you are logged in, click on 'Account' link, you will see the 'Current Password' field, type your current password in this field and your new password on the fields 'Password' and 'Retype Password', then hit the submit button.
- Why am I receiving an 'Account Locked' message?
- If you attempt to access your account and type in an incorrect password 5 times the account will lock for 1 hour. This is for security reasons.
